Welcome to our blog! We are a leadership group that attends George I. Sanchez High School in Houston, Texas. Our group is striving to make a difference in our school and community. It's a big job but we are ready to take on the challenge. We have ten months to conduct a community needs assessment, take action, and present our findings in Washington D.C. at the NCLR 2012 Congreso! 2012 George I. Sanchez Youth Leadership Committee Congreso

AAMA and George I. Sanchez Youth Leadership Committee Congreso was held on Monday, February 6th at the University of Houston. Sanchez Charter School was awarded the NCLR Líderes Grant which offered our students an opportunity to convene our NCLR affiliate school students in a discussion on current youth issues. Students received the opportunity to dialogue with professionals in the community who conducted breakout sessions that included topics related to legal issues, financial aid and law enforcement.
